Free concerts and afternoon music

Fort Smith • Seasonal outdoor concerts • Free • All ages

Levitt AMP Fort Smith Music Series

Levitt brings free live music to Harry E. Kelley Riverfront Park. The lineup changes across the season, so it’s a useful starting point when you want a concert without a ticket bill.

The 2026 series runs through October 22. Check the location for your date: the series has also used the Bakery District. Main Street Fort Smith’s lineup page includes parking and seating maps. Look for the organizer’s weather updates before heading out.

Fort Smith • 70 South Seventh Street

The Bakery District and Digs

The Bakery’s patio Blues Jam gives you a recurring afternoon option: the third Sunday of the month, starting at 1 p.m., with free admission.

There’s more music on the Bakery and Digs calendars, including evening bookings. Check the individual listing for its cover, time and age rules. Some After Dark events are 21 and older; that restriction doesn’t apply to every Bakery event.

Fort Smith • Locations vary by performance

UAFS music performances

You don’t have to be a student to attend UAFS music performances. Its calendar includes jazz bands, choirs, orchestral concerts and smaller recitals, with events free and open to the public unless the listing says otherwise.

Read the ticket note even for a free concert. Some require a free ticket download. Also check the building: performances use several spaces, including Breedlove, the Campus Center and ArcBest Performing Arts Center.

Make the concert the main event

Fort Smith and other River Valley locations

Fort Smith Symphony

Start with the Symphony’s season when you want to plan around the performance. Its main concerts are at ArcBest Performing Arts Center, 55 South Seventh Street. Chamber and community concerts use other locations, so follow the address on your concert listing.

The Symphony recommends arriving about 30 minutes early. Late arrivals wait for a break in the music to enter. Student ticket discounts are available.

Bringing children? The Symphony recommends its concert experience for ages 8 and older; that’s guidance rather than an age cutoff. For movie concerts, check the film’s content rating.

Alma • 103 East Main Street

Skokos Performing Arts Center

Skokos is a place to check for a ticketed concert in Alma. Its schedule also includes theatre and other stage productions, so open the individual show to see what’s on the bill.

Use the venue’s Purchase Tickets link for the current price and seating choices. If you need accessible seating or help planning your arrival, contact the box office at 479-632-2129 before buying.

Van Buren • 427 South Main Street

King Opera House

King Opera House brings concerts into a historic downtown performance space. National, regional and local acts share its calendar with plays, films and other events.

Choose a show from the venue calendar, then follow its ticket link for prices and seating. Check both the calendar and upcoming-shows page, since different presenters use the building.

Dinner with a live set

Fort Smith • 906 Garrison Avenue • 21 and older

906 Cocktail and Cigar Lounge

906 books local and touring musicians in a lounge setting, with food available and a changing lineup. It’s also a cigar lounge, which is worth knowing when choosing your evening.

Use the current program for set times and cover charges. Reservations are offered.

Fort Smith • 5400 Phoenix Avenue, Suite 1

JJ’s Grill

JJ’s combines a restaurant visit with free live music. Check the Fort Smith lineup before picking a night: its weekly program can also include karaoke, so a restaurant opening time or a general weekend listing won’t tell you when a band is playing.

Fort Smith • 424 Garrison Avenue

Neumeier’s Rib Room and Beer Garden

Barbecue and an outdoor beer garden make the Rib Room an option for dinner around a live set during the warmer months. Check its current bookings and the weather before planning around the outdoor stage.

Fort Smith • 5501 Phoenix Avenue • 21 and older

Uncork’d

Uncork’d has a food menu, an indoor lounge, a patio and booked live music. Check its current announcements for the artist and time, and look at reservation options if you want to make dinner part of the evening.

More places to check

Van Buren • 624 Main Street

Vault 1905 Sports Grill

Vault 1905 hosts booked music in its Event Room. Check the current announcement for the date and reservation advice rather than assuming every Friday has the same program. You can reach the venue at 479-262-2468.

Alma • 1437 West Newberry Road

Red’s Place and Grill at Magnolia Venue’s

Red’s has hosted live music in Alma. Watch its current show announcements for the next date, doors and cover. Those details belong to the individual show, so check them before making the drive.

A nearby option in Roland

Roland, Oklahoma • 109 Cherokee Boulevard • 21 and older

Lee Creek Tavern

Lee Creek Tavern is inside Cherokee Casino and Hotel Roland. Its entertainment calendar lists the acts, showtimes and admission for each booking, including free shows.

The venue is on the casino floor and entry is limited to adults 21 and older. The property lists accessible parking and entry points. Check the specific show before leaving; a free listing doesn’t guarantee a seat.

Seasonal music to watch for

Fort Smith

Peacemaker Music Festival

Peacemaker is an annual riverfront music festival. The 2026 festival has already taken place. Watch the organizer for the next season’s dates and lineup before planning a trip or buying tickets.

Greenwood

Greenwood community celebrations

Live music is part of Greenwood’s seasonal celebrations, including Freedom Fest on the Town Square and choir performances at Christmas on the Square. Check the city’s event announcements for the program and timing of the celebration you want to attend.

Barling • Heritage Pavilion, 7209 Chad Colley Boulevard

Nights at Heritage

Nights at Heritage has brought free live music to the pavilion in Barling. Watch the organizer for a newly announced date before making plans.

Before you go

Check the show date and actual venue. A presenter may use several buildings.

Separate doors from the first set. Restaurant hours aren’t concert hours.

Read the cover or ticket details, age policy and reservation terms.

For outdoor music, check the organizer’s latest weather update.

If seating, step-free entry or another access detail matters to your visit, contact the venue before leaving.
