The Week Ahead
The Week Ahead: October 18–22, 2026
Sunday October 18 2026 | October 18–22
Good Sunday morning. Thursday is going to make you choose: the last Levitt AMP concert of the fall, a festival in Van Buren or a little time with your writing.
Before we get there, Miss Laura’s has a reopening date, and Greenwood has given visiting football teams one more reason to dread the trip. There’s also a free healthcare clinic next weekend.

Miss Laura’s opens the doors again
Miss Laura’s Museum is reopening Saturday, Oct. 24, with a free celebration from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2 N. B St. in Fort Smith.
The Victorian house dates to 1898, and the museum uses photographs, artifacts and personal stories to introduce the women who lived and worked there. It’s a look at a complicated piece of Fort Smith’s past. If you’re considering a tour, the museum recommends its content for ages 16 and up.
Arrive at 9 for the ribbon cutting or 9:30 for the exhibit unveiling. There’s a women-owned business market, a Master Gardeners plant giveaway and gifts for the first 150 visitors. You may come for the museum and leave with something to water.

Greenwood makes it 80 at home
Farmington brought an unbeaten record to Greenwood on Friday. It didn’t survive the visit.
The Bulldogs won 42–14 at Smith-Robinson Stadium, making it 80 straight home wins. Take a second with that number. That’s a lot of Friday nights, a lot of teams walking into the same stadium and a lot of work to keep giving them the same ending.
Congratulations to the players and coaches who have kept that streak going, and to the Greenwood community cheering them on. Eighty in a row at home is something the whole town can be proud of.
